FAQs
What if I'm nervous about starting counselling?
It's completely okay to feel nervous about starting something new. You don't need to know exactly what to say or where to begin. Our first conversation is simply a chance to meet, ask questions, and start wherever feels comfortable for you.
How do sessions work?
We begin with a complimentary consultation to meet, discuss what brings you to counselling, and answer your questions. If we move forward, sessions are typically 50 minutes and scheduled weekly, either online or in person depending on availability.
Is online counselling as effective as in-person counselling?
Research supports online counselling as an effective option for many people and concerns. The therapeutic relationship and feeling comfortable with your counsellor are important parts of the counselling process.
How can I make my payment?
I accept credit and debit cards and e-transfer.
Are counselling sessions covered by my insurance provider?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for counselling services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I provide detailed receipts for you to submit to your insurance provider. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend checking your benefits directly with your provider.
How long does counselling take?
The length of counselling depends on your needs and goals. Some people benefit from shorter-term support, while others prefer ongoing counselling.
